ABOUT US
Makhijani & Johnson Attorneys-at-Law is a multinational boutique lawfirm located in Kingston, Jamaica. Our firm was founded and is headed by Britney-Lee Johnson and Gaurica Makhijani, a Jamaican and Belizean national respectively. Both women have worked as a team since the inception of their careers, with a focus on obtaining solid experience, all while being attentive to the humanity of their clients. We currently provide legal services to persons living in Jamaica and Belize, as well as Jamaicans and Belizeans in the diaspora. We pride ourselves in offering legal services to English and Spanish speakers. Each Attorney offers diverse professional and practical experiences to provide clients with exceptional representation in and out of court. We get it done.

ATTORNEYS
GAURICA MAKHIJANI
Gaurica Makhijani is one of our founding partners of Belizean nationality. She is a native Spanish and English speaker who is licensed to practice in Belize and Jamaica.
Her passion lies in obtaining notable and mint settlements for her clients. She has managed to secure a number of settlements for her clients from insurance companies in record time.
Gaurica has been exposed to several high profile cases including matters against renowned banks, government institutions and states. She has successfully appeared before the Jamaican Criminal Court of Appeal and has a good working knowledge of how to not only appear, but the level of preparation required to win.
Gaurica obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus with Honors in Barbados and a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica. She also holds an Associates Degree in Humanities with a concentration in Law and Sociology from the Muffles Junior College, Belize with honors.
Gaurica has had particular success in slip and falls and negligence claims at trial and in the arena of mediation for our clients.
Gaurica is known for her relentless pursuit for justice, trustworthiness and for going the extra mile to protect her clients’ interest.
In her free time, Gaurica enjoys powerlifting, music, traveling and art.
BRITNEY-LEE JOHNSON
Britney-Lee is licensed to practice in Jamaica and Belize. Britney-Lee Johnson is one of the founding partners of Makhijani & Johnson Attorneys-at-Law. She is a Jamaican Criminal and Civil Litigator with experience in successful bail Applications, substantial settlements for injuries arising out of motor vehicle accidents, injuries on the job, wrongful death, divorce, custody and maintenance of children, slip and falls, contentious and non-contentious Estate matters, defamation, and selective criminal matters.
Britney-Lee is most passionate about issues involving injustices where there is an apparent imbalance of power. Her clients benefit from her unwavering commitment to getting the best possible outcome for them and their loved ones. Britney-Lee has successfully appeared before several parish courts as well as before the Supreme Court of Jamaica.
Britney-Lee has obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus with Honors as well as a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School. Britney-Lee is outcome driven and has proven to be a fierce, yet balanced advocate at all times.
Outside of work, Britney-Lee enjoys reading, travel, fashion, and staying in tune with current affairs.
